Allopurinol Development and Validation (French Edition)

The study is focused on the development and validation of HPLC methods for the estimation of allopurinol in tablet form. For routine analysis, it is desirable to establish methods capable of analyzing a large number of samples in a short time with good robustness, good accuracy, and good precision without any previous separation step. The HPLC method generates a large amount of high-quality data, which constitutes a very powerful and practical analytical tool. The method exhibits good reproducibility and good recovery. Specificity studies have shown that the developed methods were specific for allopurinol. The proposed methods have proven to be simple, sensitive, accurate, and precise, and have not shown any interference with common additives and excipients. The developed method has been validated in terms of linearity, accuracy, and precision, in accordance with ICH guidelines. The proposed methods can therefore be used routinely for the estimation of allopurinol in bulk and in pharmaceutical dosage forms.
